DC 2009 allows you to configure a low and high daily volume consumption limit. When the volume falls below the low limit or exceeds the high limit at the end of the day, based on the daily read hour, an alarm is triggered and the Remote Unit calls in and logs the alarm to the System Alarm table.
In this example, a customer has contracted to buy 1000 MCF/day. You want to set the high limit to 1000 and the low limit to 250. This ensures that an alarm is logged to the System Alarm table, (after the Remote Unit has completed its interval calculations), if the volume exceeds 1000 MCF or falls below 250 MCF.
To configure a Remote Unit input to monitor daily volume consumption:
- Open the Remote Unit Configuration application.
- In the Available Remote Units list, select the Remote Unit.
Use the Search Engine utility to find a particular Remote Unit or group of related Remote Units
- Click the Edit Icon.
The View Remote Unit dialog box appears.
- Click the Relay Information tab.
- In the Remote Unit Inputs list, select the input that you want to monitor and click the Configure button.
- Click the Feasibility Checking tab.
- Select the Enable check box for Remote Daily Volume High and Remote Daily Volume Low.
The selected Remote Unit input is referenced in the label. For example, if you select input 2 the label will read "Remote Daily
Volume High Input 2."
- In the Limits box for Remote Daily Volume High, enter the appropriate value (for our exmaple, this would be 1000).
It is important to know the units in which the selected input is monitoring when you set the high limits and the low limits.
- In the Limits box for Remote Daily Volume Low, enter the appropriate value (for our exmaple, this would be 250).
- Click OK.
