Setting Up Alarm Logging Locations

You can log any alarm (user or system) to a file, com port, or printer. Most users log the alarm to a printer.

To set up an Alarm Logging Location:
  1. Open the Alarm Maintenance application.
  2. In the Available Alarms list, select the alarm you want to setup.
  3. Click the Edit Icon:
    The Edit Alarm dialog box appears.
  4. In the Alarm printer box, enter the path to alarm logging device you are going to use for the selected alarm.
    If you are logging to a printer, you can click the Printer button and see a list of printers to which you have access. Select a printer from
          the list and click OK. The path to the alarm-logging device is now displayed in the Alarm printer box.
  5. Click OK.
    The next occurrence of the selected alarm will be sent to the specified alarm-logging device.
