The Electric Report application enables you to create and print reports customized for your specific needs. The Electric Report application operates like the other DC 2009 reporting applications except for one major difference - YOU determine the layout.
You create an Electric Report in two main steps:
-
Create a layout using the "Edit Layout" dialog box. The "Edit Layout" dialog box options enable you to:
Determine the look of the printed report - columns, column headings, symbols, report headers and footers, and totals.
Determine the data to display in the column - type, conversions, flags, summary information, format and label - and set up the equations to calculate the displayed data.
A layout can be used for more than one image, so you can create a library of stock layouts and use them with various images. This is a handy feature for those times when you want to run a report once, (or Autoload a report and remove after running), but you want to save the layout information to use again.
-
Create a new image, using the "Edit Image" dialog box, and associate it with a layout. The "Edit Image" dialog box options enable you to:
Determine the Account or List on which to report.
Specify the time period over which to report.
Specify the print setup for the report: The destination for the file (if printing to a file), the default application to use for viewing the report, the file type, and the font to use for printing the report.
Electric Reports are Autoloadable.
