Using the Search Engine


The Search Engine utility enables you to sort and search Available Remote Units and Available Accounts lists. The Search Engine utility is available in every DC 2009 application in which an "Available Remote Units" or "Available Accounts" list is provided. The 3 Search Engine controls are located directly above the list.

To Setup and Perform a Custom Search:
In this example, you are searching an Available Accounts list for all Accounts with an Account ID beginning with 001 - such as 00121, 00134, 00145, etc.
  1. In the Use box, click the arrow and select the filed by which to search the Available Accounts
    For this eample, you can selected Account ID.
  2. In the Search for box, enter the criteria by which to search the "Use" field you selected in Step 1. You can use wild card characters to "narrow" your search.
    For this example, you would type "001%".
    Here's how the Use and Search for fields would appear for this example:
  3. Click Search
    The Available Accounts list is reordered and displayed as specified by the serach criteria you have setup and initiated.

To Sort an Available Accounts or Available Remote Units list:
Sorting is a relatively simple task. You can sort as many times as needed and you can sort with any of the fields available to you in the Use drop-down list.
  1. In the Use box, click the arrow and select the field by which to sort the Available Accounts or Available Remote Units list. The list is reordered and displayed accordingly.
