The Remote Unit Configuration application is the "heart" of DC 2009. A Remote Unit's information cannot be retrieved and stored in your database until it has been setup, and the Remote Unit Configuration application is where you must begin when setting up and configuring your Remote Units. The Remote Unit Configuration application is typically used to: How Remote Units Are Used in the System
A Remote Unit is the hardware in the field. A unique Remote Unit ID identifies the field Remote Unit. The system Remote Unit Configuration specifies how to collect the data from the field Remote Unit. Each Remote Unit Configuration has a unique Remote Unit ID. In order to retrieve data from the field Remote Unit, you must have a Remote Unit in the system configured with the same unique Remote Unit ID.

The Relationship between Remote Units and Accounts
After you add a Remote Unit to the system, the Account is your primary means for running reports and accessing data. When you add a Remote Unit to the system, an Account with the same ID is also added.
Remote Unit inputs should be setup in a consistent manner, for example, configure all #1 inputs to retrieve uncorrected volume and all
